About Me

My name is Megan Haile. I am 22 years old.  I was born in Albany, OR and was raised in a Christian home. I first accepted Jesus when I was 5 or 6 years old but did not really understand what it meant to follow Jesus. Around middle school I recognized my sin and tried to "fix my sin". As I was trying, and failing, to earn my salvation I couldn't figure it out. I got stuck in sin and shame. In 2020 I graduated from high school and started studying at Corban University. I began to understand the Gospel in new ways. While studying and being mentored, I learned about God's grace and the righteousness I received when I accepted Him. Everything changed for me and my faith became my own. In May of 2024 I graduated from Corban University with a Masters degree in Christian Leadership. I am excited to see how God uses me in ministry as I continue to allow Him to lead my life.

About Me

My Heart for Missions.

I was exposed to missions at a young age as me and my sisters accompanied my parents on missions trips to Mexico. My dad was the missions director and leader of the trip so we got to experience every different aspect of missionary work.

In high school I went on several trips to Gleanings for the Hungry and served among my peers working on processing fruit to be sent out around the world.

My heart for missions continued to grow as I worked with my Youth Pastor on ministering to the homeless in our community by building relationships and giving away supplies and praying with them.

The last year of my bachelors degree I heard about a trip through Corban University to Uganda. Despite being nervous, I took a step of faith and signed for the class and began to prepare for the trip. Throughout the preparation process I experienced lots of fear of the future, both for the trip and for my life after completing my degree.

In March of 2023, I went on a trip to Mexico with our church and witnessed someone coming to Christ. At that moment all my thoughts about what I would do next changed. I began to consider what it would look like to pursue missions.

Then in May of 2023 I went on my first trip to Uganda. During the trip I had the opportunity to teach the Bible, minister and love rescued children, and share the Gospel. During one of our days doing door to door ministry I was humbled to pray with someone to accept Christ.

After my trip I knew that I wanted to return to Uganda. I wanted to return to continue to build relationships and have the chance to do ministry.

When my mom passed away in August of 2023 my plans to return took a halt. I thought that I wouldn't be able go back to Uganda, though I still felt a burden to return and for missions.

Despite my uncertainty of whether I would be able to go back to Uganda, God had a plan. He orchestrated the opportunity for me to return to Uganda for about 3 weeks. On the trip He continued to work on my heart for missions and provided many stretching moments of ministry.

As I trust the Lord with having missions on my heart, I am praying about how I can use my education and experiences to continue to pursue the Lord's will for my life as I continue to serve Him.

"Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Matthew 28:18-20
